REFEREE REQUIREMENTS
Each game has a certified referee or referees officiating the match. For the U6 and U8 level, 1 referee will officiate the match. For U10-U19, there will be 1 Referee and 2 Assistant Referees officiating the match. Below are the requirements for U6-U12.
All referees must be registered volunteers with Region 31 and complete all required online training, to include, CDC Concussion, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Safe Haven and SafeSport. You must also complete your CA State Mandated fingerprinting. Please see the Volunteer tab for the link to sign up through a verified AYSO location local to you.
U6/U8 Referee course - One 4 hour training session; Successful completion allows the volunteer to referee U6 and U8 games.
Regional Referee course - Diamond Bar AYSO will be hosting 1 Regional Referee certification course. This course is an 8-hour in-person course that you are required to attend in order to be certified as a Regional level referee.
For U6 and U8 games, the home team will provide the referee for their match. All referees are required to complete the online training course found on our ETRAINU platform. They must wear a yellow dry fit referee jersey and utilize a whistle that will be provided to them upon completion of their online course.
For U10 and U12 games, volunteers will utilize the
Referee Scheduler to sign up for the game of their choosing. Each referee must wear the provided yellow referee uniform, black shorts and black socks. If you need a uniform, please reach out to our Referee Coordinator
